Petr Píša was born in Jihlava on 9 September 1965, the year in which A Walk Worthwhile came into the world. Originally a mechanic, fitter of textile machines, he lives in Třešť in the Vysočina region, earning his living as an artistic smith. In Třešť he founded a large brass orchestra, Tutti, which now plays under the moniker ZUŠ Jihlava and is conducted by him. He is also a band-master and vocalist of the swing orchestra Zatrestband. He has performed as a guest in the mixed ensemble Campanula in Jihlava. He is the producer of the year-round Tančírna Třešť cultural project at whose evening programmes orchestras playing swing, blues, salsa, etc. meet on two stages. Petr Píša is also an organiser of the Cihelna Třešť festival.
