Jan Malíř

Jan Malíř graduated from the Prague Film Academy (FAMU) in 1972. He is a privileged director of photography of Jan Hřebejk. Apart from working on his films, he has participated in other noted Czech feature and short films. He, for instance, co-operated with cartoon-film maker and director Jiří Bárta on a combined cartoon Poslední lup (The Last Theft) in 1987. For Eastern German TV he shot one part of the series – Scene of the Crime which was partly realized in Prague. He shoots commercials and regularly co-operates on American production films which are made in the Czech Republic. He was nominated for Czech Lion Award for the film Horem pádem (Up and Down).
